Water Gardens vs Farm Ponds

Definition of a Farm Pond
A Farm Pond is generally classified by its earth bottom, which may consist of a number of different soil types, size (1/5 acre or larger), and its species of fish, such as bass, bluegill, catfish, trout, etc. Farm Ponds can be used for things such as swimming, fishing and other recreational activities.

Definition of a Water Garden
Water Gardens are sometimes referred to as koi ponds or water features. Water Gardens generally have a liner and have plant shelves to house aquatic plants. They can greatly range in size from as little as 50 gallons to several 1,000 gallons. Water Gardens are built for several different reasons, which include but are not limited to the relaxing sound of moving water and/or beauty of aquatic plants and fish.
