Blue Plastic Threaded Strainer act as a pre-filter, stopping large debris from entering pump and plumbing. Also called a Foot Valve when used in combination with an In-Line Threaded Check Valve, they are commonly used at the opening of a pump suction line.

How and when to use:
Blue Plastic Threaded Strainers are used in open water applications such as well casings, drawing water from a lake, canal or pond, or when pumping water from a holding tank such as a cistern. The foot valve serves a dual purpose by providing added filtering of the water and also holding the prime in the pump head.
