Algae Defense® is a fast-acting aquatic algaecide designed to work on a broad spectrum of pond algae. Best results are achieved when Algae Defense® is applied at the first appearance of algae and water temperatures exceed 60° F. Unless steps are taken to reduce the overall nutrients in your pond, multiple applications may be needed for a full season of control. Algae Defense® is a direct substitution for Symmetry®.

How To Apply Algae Defense®:
Using the dosage rate chart above mix the appropriate amount of Algae Defense®, water and Cide-Kick™ to treat the affected surface area. 1 gallon of Algae Defense® treats up to 8,000 square feet. The chemical solution can then be applied directly onto the ponds surface where algae are present using an Airmax® Pond Sprayer. When To Apply Algae Defense®:
Best results are achieved when Algae Defense® is applied at the first appearance of pond algae and water temperatures exceed 60° F. Algae Defense® is applied as needed when new algae appears and is not intended to be used as a preventative water treatment.

Cide-Kick™ surfactant increases the wetting, spreading, sticking and dispersing of aquatic herbicides and algaecides. Cide-Kick™ helps break down the waxy cuticle on the leaf surface and allows chemical applications to penetrate the bud and bark area (of woody brush), resulting in a more effective uptake of the herbicide or algaecide. Cide-Kick™ is a by-product of the citrus industry, a low viscosity oil and is compatible with most aquatic herbicides and algaecides. Simply add 2 ounces of Cide-Kick™ for every gallon of solution (both water and chemical) you mix.

As suggested...I used with cide kick and how AMAZING they products are. Fast acting too. Got rid of the green icky stuff and now the water is so clear and inviting. |

We used Algae Defense with Cide Kick on our pond, and after two applications, the algae is only slightly improved. Unfortunately, we learned that hard way that this stuff kills frogs and tadpoles. ALL of them. |
