What Does Barley Do?
We have sold many units of this product in the past few seasons, and have great feed back from many customers that with the proper use of barley can led to much cleaner, clearer water in their ponds.
Is Barley A Form Of An Algaecide?
No, it is not registered with the US Environmental Protection Agency as a pesticide, and therefore no claims are made regarding it's use in preventing, removing, controlling or eliminating algae. This is an all-natural product, and does not contain any know pesticides, chemical additives, or even "ingredients"- it is just barley straw.
How Does Barley Work?
The process is not well understood, but it thought that as the straw decays in the presence of oxygen (and possibly sunlight), chemicals are released or produced that help clear water.

Directions for use:Use 1 oz per 500 gallons.
If pond water is turbid, use once
a week until water is clear.
Thereafter, use once every
3 weeks for maintenance.
Pour directly into pond water.

I just wanted to let you know what a GREAT! product the Pond Logic Liquid Barley extract is. This is the 2nd year we have used it and we have not been disappointed in the results. This stuff is like magic...we will never use anything else. For about 6 weeks we have had crystal clear water and just use it as maintenance once every 3 weeks. |

I use this in early spring to jump start my pond. I follow it with the DefensePAC and my pond looks great. I prefer the liquid because I would use the pellets and the KOI always ate them before the pellets had a chance to work. It is also much easier than pellets or straw. |

We were cleaning our skimmer bags every day due to all the algae. One day after using the Barley Straw Extract the skimmer bags were clean, the water was sparkling clear, and we could see the bottom of the bond again. |

This is the first time I have used Barley Straw Extract Plus...but it is wonderful. I purchased the liquid barley extract and with in 3 day's i saw an improvement in my fish pond in which the green on rocks and bottom cleared. after the third application the pond looks great |
