API® Ammonia Test Kit

Item: 160127
  • Quickly Measure Ammonia Levels
  • Easy-to-Read Color Charts
  • Help Maintain a Clear Pond

The pond Ammonia Test Kit measures the ammonia level quickly and easily. Known as a toxic pond waste, ammonia is excreted into your pond by fish, birds, and other pond life. Pond biological filters are composed of nitrifying bacteria that use ammonia as a food source to grow and reproduce. Bacteria convert harmful ammonia into nitrate (non-toxic). Low traces of ammonia in your pond can be caused from having a lack of nitrifying bacteria growth (new ponds), or from having too many fish, overfeeding fish, other fish excrete, and decaying plant matter. Low traces of ammonia can be very toxic to your fish. The pond Ammonia Test Kit measures ammonia levels from 0 - 8ppm and contains enough solution for 130 tests. This kit includes test solutions, glass test tube with cap, color chart instructions.
