How To Apply

Surface Application - Mix 2-3 ounces of Clipper with 1 gallon of water for every 1/8 acre (5,456 feet).

Subsurface Application - Mix 8 ounces of Clipper with 1 gallon of water for every 1/8 acre (5,456 feet).

Mix the amount of Clipper and Treatment Booster Plus (if using) with water in a tank sprayer according to label instructions. Spray onto floating weeds and algae, or place the tip beneath the water's surface. Over time, the weeds will begin to brown and die. Once completely dead, use a rake, like the Pond & Beach Rake, to remove dead weeds to prevent an accumulation of dead plant material and muck.

When To Apply

Clipper has no temperature restriction, but it should only be applied when weeds are actively growing. In areas with dense weed vegetation only treat 1/2 the water body at one time and wait 10-14 days before treating the remaining area. This helps lower the fish of fish loss during hot weather. Do not re-treat the same section of water within 28 days of application.

  • Wait 5 days before using treated water for irrigation.

Chemical Application Best Practices

Anytime you use chemicals to treat algae or weeds, please keep in mind the following:

  • Treat your pond in sections. Treat only half the pond's surface at a time. During hot weather or when treating heavy growth, it is important to treat no more than ¼ of your pond at a time and wait the full 14 days before re-applying. This helps lower the risk of fish loss during hot weather or when treating heavy growth.
  • Once the algae or weeds have browned & died, use a rake to remove as much dead material as possible. This prevents an accumulation of dead plant material and muck.
  • Take a proactive approach to pond management. Use PondClear, MuckAway and Pond Dye to keep your pond looking great. For more information, see our article on the Airmax® Ecosystem
