How To Apply
Broadcast the Cutrine®-Plus onto the area to be treated using a granular spreader. For best results, apply early in the morning before heavy mats form. Cutrine®-Plus works best on a sunny, calm day. Treat only up to half of the pond's surface and wait 10-14 days before a second treatment. In hot weather or when fish are stressed, treat only 1/4 - 1/3 of the pond at a time. Over time, the algae or chara will begin to brown and die. Once it is completely dead, use a rake, like the Pond Logic® Pond & Beach Rake, to remove dead algae away to prevent an accumulation of dead algae and muck.
When To Apply
Cutrine®-Plus should be applied when algae is actively growing. Begin applications when algae first appears. Unless steps are taken to reduce the overall nutrients in the pond, multiple applications may be needed for full season algae control.
Restrictions
- Do not use in ponds with koi.
- Do not use in ponds with goldfish.
- Do not use in ponds with trout, unless carbonate hardness is above 50ppm.

"Relief from Chara"Anne of Columbiaville, MI
I thought I had a weed in my pond until I talked to the techs at The Pond Guy. Come to find out what looked like a weed was an algae called Chara. I bought the Cutrine Plus Granular as they recommended and used it on the Chara. It was very effective and also helped with the floating algae that I had on the pond. I would recommend this product for treating Chara and other algae. I especially liked the fact that my dog didn't have to wait to use the pond as this product did not have any water use restrictions.
