Red Ludwigia is a submerged oxygenating plant with red-green leaves that at times can protrude from the water. The more light Red Ludwigia has, the darker the red will be on the under side of its leaves. Red Ludwigia is a very fast grower, and you can also let this plant float on the surface if you choose. This is a great plant for adding color under the water in your pond and a place for fish to hide and reproduce.

Mail Order: What To Expect
Plants you receive by mail need time to adjust. Your plants will arrive as: Bare Root (only root and little to no foliage), Bunches (several stems or groupings of plants) or as a Net Pot (roots with some foliage). Upon arrival, they may not appear lush but given time & proper care, they will flourish!
Planting Instructions
Plant several bunches of Red Ludwigia together submerged in a planter with aquatic planting media or simply tie the bunch to a weight and drop into the desired section of your pond or water garden.
Fertilization
Fertilization is typically not needed for Red Ludwigia as they take excess nutrients from your pond water. If needed, Microbe-Lift® Bloom & Grow™ can be used.
Plant Maintenance
For best results, trim leaves as they begin to turn yellow or brown, remove them completely, discarding them to keep as much excess organic material out of water-body as possible.
Winter Care
When performing fall maintenance tasks, cut back Red Ludwigia to 1" above the pot and submerge back into center of pond. This stops winter die off from entering the pond as decaying debris.
