The Airmax® Blue Heron Decoy deters problematic herons from visiting your pond and doubles as a realistic blue heron pond decoration. The Airmax® Blue Heron Decoy is constructed of durable injection molded plastic and includes detachable legs and a mounting stake. The Airmax® Blue Heron Decoy measures 33" in length, 10" wide and stands 22" high.

How To Use The Airmax® Blue Heron Decoy:
The Airmax® Blue Heron Decoy should be placed along the shoreline of your farm pond or water garden to deter herons from visiting your pond. The Airmax® Blue Heron Decoy should be relocated frequently to maintain the appearance of a live and active heron.

When To Use The Airmax® Blue Heron Decoy:
The Airmax® Blue Heron Decoy should not be used as a heron deterrent until late May after their mating season has ended. If used during their mating season your Airmax® Blue Heron Decoy may attract a live mate.

As long as I moved the bird every few days the other herons stayed away, its chipping some paint from the top, but all in all not too bad.

Great product for the money. It is sturdy and life-like. I just wish it had a moving head or legs or something. I have to move it frequently for it to be effective. If your heron is as persistent as mine I would recommend the scarecrow the combo seems to be the only thing that has worked yet?

Before installing the plastic heron we lost about four koi from our fishpond in a week or two to an egret. Since installing the product last month we have not lost any further fish. It seems to work and although we are in principle against plastic ornaments in our garden, it does not look too bad

We purchased the heron this spring; had it in partial sun partial shade till July 17th. It was very chipped and it wasn't even near water. I was very disappointed - I sent two emails telling them so, and I have never received any feed back. As far as keeping other heron's away, it works good for that, but I liked how it looked, and now it looks like it's years old rather then months old. :( not good quality. - RE: Blue Heron Decoy - We are happy to hear that the heron decoy still functioned to deter herons from the pond. We have sent out a replacement due to the flaws in the paint on your current decoy. Happy ponding! -The Pond Guy

Well, I was wrong. I thought this was probably the dumbest idea ever, but out of desperation, we bought one from Pond Guy. THE THING WORKS! If you follow the time guidelines and move it around periodically, it REALLY WORKS! We did not lose a single fish to herons this past season. Sometimes it's fun to be wrong!

We lost a bunch of fish last year so we thought we would try this. Happy to say, they are still all here. Let's hope it continues. Other feedback about moving it around is helpful.

Easy to relocate around pond. Realistic from a distance - our cat hasn't dared to visit the pond.

This is my third summer with this decoy and it works! We live by a lake and a Heron was feeding on my water garden fish. He came once or twice a day but the day we put it up we have not seen him. We just move the position every 2-3 days. Looks real, too, the first day we put it up my teen looked out the window and yelled,"that Blue Heron is at the pond!"

This decoy is a complete waste of money. I move the decoy frequently as directed. There are just as many herons coming to my pond as before. Some have landed right beside the decoy! Don't waste your money.

Moved it still had them land. Was up for one week and had a 15-20mph wind and where the stake attaches to the body broke off. I wouldn't waste the money.

Awesome! Ordered on Friday, received it on Monday! A Heron had been killing our fish-besides just our little ones that he could swallow in one gulp, he was killing our big catfish and bass (1 foot long plus). They were too big for him to carry away, so we would find them on the shore. Before the decoy, the shore was littered with his footprints. After the decoy-NO PRINTS! Our fish are starting to come back to the surface to eat again. Thank you Pond Guy!!!!

I "planted" my heron in my rear yard foliage area by the waterfall. My wife came home, looked out the window, saw the heron, got excited and told me to quickly look at the great bird in our yard before it flew away. She is not easily fooled and still loves it after finding out it is not "real". I am sold on it. Thanks.
Mating season?

Nice quality decoy, however it failed to deter the heron that has been around our pond this summer. I think she/he (the live one) likes him or her (the fake one). It stands right next to the decoy. Duck hunters use decoys to attract more, maybe it's mating season.

I just bought a second Blue heron decoy. I believe I had the first one for two years. Could have continued to use the first one but the paint was fading. It worked though which is the most important feature.Did not have any problems with a real heron attacking our goldfish. Our pond is a pretty good size - holds around 2000 gallons of water.

This worked for the first week or two and we kept moving it, after that the heron would stand next to it, would not recommend!
