When To Use

The Pond Guy® ClearVac Pond Vacuum can be used in any Koi pond, water garden or water feature to perform regular maintenance. The ClearVac is designed to remove sludge/muck, algae and debris up to 3/8". The vacuum can be used on a regular basis without having to remove the fish from the pond. The dual chamber will allow the two reservoirs to fill and drain automatically for a continuous operation.

If operating the ClearVac as a standard wet vac, simply remove the discharge hose from the vacuum and insert the included plug before operating.

How To Use

Once you have assembled the vacuum, position the unit at or near water level (Placing the unit higher may cause loss of suction) and lay the discharge hose away from your pond. The pond vacuum will pick up debris, but it is not a filter. Returning the water back into the pond will also return fine particles like sludge and muck along with the water. Expect about a 10-25% water loss while cleaning the pond. Once you have selected your nozzle, turn the power switch to the on position and submerge the suction hose in the water. Move in a slow uniform fashion to remove debris.

Important Note: The ClearVac can be used with an extension cord, but it MUST be a 10 or 12 gauge outdoor rated extension cord no longer than 50 feet.

The ClearVac really made my spring cleanout a breeze! The different attachments made it easy to get between my large rocks. Overall, very easy to use and a great investment!

Can you break this really!?!?

I own a maintenance business in Atlanta,GA. I recently purchased two for my business. I was skeptical after trying many different products that ALL failed. I can vacuum a 40,000 gal. pond with this thing all day...and I mean ALL day...non stop 16 hours. No waiting for it to empty like the single stage vacs. You just keep sucking. Sometimes you will have to wait for it to trigger the release. If it doesn't release, you just pull it out of the water for a second and let it clear itself then continue on. I have not had to use the 2nd unit I ordered because I can't break this one. Every Monday and Wednesday this thing gets used non-stop for 16 hrs./day for about 4 months now. On top of that I HAVE NEVER CLEANED IT!!! The ONLY problem I have with this thing is if a larger rock gets caught in the flap leading in from the hose to the vac it will sometimes either mist water out or smoke or something from the top. Either way it looks like it's going to blow! It's scary looking, but all you have to do is clear the jam and continue on. The thing is AMAZING! That being said, I probably just voided my warranty by divulging all of that info! Well worth the money.

I waited 8 years before deciding to purchase a pond vacuum. I'm glad I waited for this vacuum! Every year we drained and power washed our 2000 gallon pond. Not anymore! The suction on this vacuum is incredible and the clear hose that is provided as an extra tube allows me to view all the muck that is suctioned up. The water discharge process is seamless allowing for water to be discharged either back into the pond or out into our yard. It provides plenty of hosing (although we had to get creative by adding additional length to the discharge hose in order to reach our lawn). By having this vacuum I believe we can schedule power washing every other year rather than yearly. I am very impressed with the ClearVac vacuum and highly recommend it to everyone. Thanks Pond Guy!

Used the ClearVac Pond Vacuum for doing partial water changes. Clean rocks easily and the two chambers makes the process go so much faster. Also use it for the big clean out each year. Great product

Well I was skeptical because my pond is a muck festival, I live in a rural setting and the lily pond is over grown and 10 years of muck was filling it up. Bailing is no longer an option because of my back. SO- I splurged for this piece of equipment and SO glad I did! I'm doing the pond in sections and will continue over the next few weekends, amazing is the final word. Get it.

it's wonderful

I bought this vacuum some time ago & have been meaning to do a review. So here it is. I have fought with cloudy/green pond water for a couple of years. The first time I used this vacuum I actually had trouble vacuuming sludge on the bottom of the pond as I couldn't see the bottom. A week later it was so much easier as the pond was almost perfectly clear. I now vacuum the pond once a week, could probably go longer but have such clear water not taking a chance. Can see all my fish now which is great. Most of the reason I got them.

Ok...I had to write one more!

It's great to have a great friend in the pond industry. This vacuum is mine! This thing is insane!!!! Dropped off the back of the truck...didn't break. Used for HOURS at a time every day...didn't break. Fell in the water ...didn't break. I broke the attachments LONG ago...vacuum...still running strong! This thing might even be bulletproof, however I'm not going to test that theory. Gotta hand it to you...nice vac guys! I am impressed!

Best pond/water vac I've used in 30 yrs. The self emptying feature is great! It's has a little problem keeping up with an unrestricted intake flow, but when used with brushes, attachments, and a slight learning curve, this vac is impressive. The only problem is the small brush attachment is unavailable for purchase on the parts list, while all other attachments are. **Comments from The Pond Guy similar models prior to 2015 has a brush attachment, but this one has the Gravel Nozzle without the bristles that is available for purchase.**
