The Pond Guy Scholarship

Nate will attend the University of Montana to major in Environmental Science with a concentration in Water Resources. He is a passionate outdoorsman who loves to hunt and fish. His dream is to become a licensed hydrologist and protect our delicate watersheds and fisheries.

I am a biology major whose goal is to work in the US Fish and Wildlife Service as a pilot biologist. My free time is generally spent outdoors, but I also like photography, working with my hands, or trying to learn something new! I am grateful for this opportunity to better my education.

Abigail will be attending the University of Tampa this fall to double major in Marine Science and Biology. She is a member of the Honors Program and the Spartan Undergraduate Research Experience. Abi is also a certified Open Water SCUBA diver who loves learning about the biogeochemistry of the ocean and is passionate about marine conservation.

I am a freshman at the University of Texas at San Antonio, majoring in Biology. I have always had a strong interest in science and a passion for animals. After completing my degree, I plan to advance my education by studying veterinary medicine. I have aspirations of becoming a Veterinarian specializing in small or exotic animals.

I am currently working at the Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL) in Woods Hole, MA in the apparatus department. I will be attending Massachusetts Maritime Academy where I will be majoring in Marine Science, Safety, and Environmental Protection with a minor in Marine Biology. Upon graduating I plan on earning my master's degree in Marine Biology at UMass Dartmouth.

I am so grateful to have been selected as the Spring recipient of the Pond Guy Entrepreneurship and Biology scholarship! I am from San Diego, CA but currently attend school at UC Santa Barbara where I am studying aquatic biology. I am so lucky to be able to pursue my passion at UCSB and thankful for the support I have received from The Pond Guy.

Cooper is a junior at Cedarville University and is majoring in environmental science. His academic goals are to obtain a master's degree in aquatic biology and excel in research. He has a passion for the outdoors and hopes to inspire others to enjoy nature through his YouTube channel!

Anna received her undergrad in Plant and Soil Systems from LSU in 2016. She will be pursuing her master's degree in 2021 with a focus on public perception of aquatic and horticulture invasive species. She is a social media strategist for the LSU Agricultural Center creating content for the public to connect to agriculture. Her goal is to influence public policy and make information readily available.

Madisen is a freshman at the University of Florida and is majoring in management. She hopes to start her own business someday and inspire others with her ideas.

Brooke is currently working as an undergraduate lab assistant at UMass Amherst, researching pollinator and plant interactions and bumble bee pathogens.

My objective is to give back to the community by bringing about public awareness of the conservation of our natural resources.
