Planting Your Island Planter

Step 1: Fill planter with 1" of gravel to create a base. Then fill planter within 1" from the top with Microbe-Lift® Aquatic Planting Media.

Step 2: Create a planting pocket for each plant and cover roots with media. Remember your planter can move in the water. Make your planter appealing from every angle by planting taller plants such as the Blue Flag Iris or Bog Bean in the center, and short or creeping plantings such as the Golden Creeping Jenny toward the outside.

Step 3: Top off planter with planting media, then place into the pond. Islands can float freely or you may choose to anchor to the pond's bottom to limit movement.

Step 4: Use Thrive™ Fertilizer tabs to feed plants every 2 weeks when the water temperature is above 75°F.
