A: When your pond or water garden needs new décor, pond spitters are an easy and attractive way to spruce up any aquascape. Our selection of decorative pond spitters ranges from classy to cheeky, and everything in between. Still, your heart may be set on a specific design inspired by your unique tastes. Learn how to make your own pond spitter so you can bring your fountain spitter ideas into reality.
A pond spitter is a simple water feature that uses a fountain pump to draw water up from your pond or basin and releases it from an opening in your pond spitter statue. You can easily create your own using a hollow statue, a pond pump, and tubing.
First, place the pump near the base of the statuary where it is fully submerged in the water. Next, run the appropriately sized tubing through the statue and secure it into the opening where you want the water to emerge back into your pond or reservoir. Turn on your pump, and that’s it! You now have a fully functional DIY pond spitter.
The Pond Guy MagFlo Mini makes building any ornamental, DIY pond spitter easy. The included suction mounts keep the pump securely in place inside the base of your spitter or reservoir basin. A high-efficiency magnetic pump pushes water up through a maximum of five feet of head pressure—ideal for most small to medium pond spitter statues.
